The Voynich Manuscript

I first stumbled upon the Voynich Manuscript in my teens.  It may have been an article in The Unexplained, a weekly partwork magazine published c1980, that brought it to my attention.  Unfortunately there wasn't an awful lot of information widely available at that time, all I remember seeing were a couple of example illustrations and an example of the strange characters used in the text.

Times have changed and more than 20 years later I once again stumbled upon the Voynich Manuscript. This time however, the 200 or so pages that remain of the manuscript are in the public domain, and high resolution scans have been made freely available by the Beinecke Rare Books and Manuscript Library at Yale University, USA.

There's nothing to be gained here by me regurgitating information that can be found elsewhere, so I'll leave you with a link to the Voynich Manuscript pages on Wikipedia and urge you to read and then make up your own minds as to whether this manuscript is a 15/16th century hoax or if it's actually a glimpse into the flora and fauna and cosmology of an alien world.
